The Bengal
The Bengal is distinct breed of spotted domestic cats derived from the cross breeding of a domestic cat and a wild cat, the Asian Leopard Cat, and it must be four generations away from the Asian Leopard Cat.  The name Bengal is derived from thescientific name of the Asian Leopard Cat, Felis bengalensis.

The Asian Leopard Cat(ALC), was first intentionally bred with a domestic cat in the 1960's. The goal of this was to produce a cat with a wild look, but have the temperment of a domestic house cat. Like what I said, they must be four generations away from the wild cat, the ALC, to be kept a a house pet without needing a permit. And it is also considered a pure-breed if it is four generations away from the ALC.

The first gerneration male is sterile.
